Amy Grant Tickets Sent By An Angel

Last week I received a call from Amy Grant's Tour Manager. He asked why I had not responded to his numerous emails about her upcoming concert, and I responded, "I thought it was junk mail" therefore I didn't open the correspondence. I explained to him I had not purchased any tickets for her upcoming concert in Ft. Worth. He told me 'someone' had done this for me, giving me 4 tickets, along with back-stage passes before and after the concert. WOW was the only word that came to mind during our conversation. I did tell him a few times, "you're pulling my leg" (an old Southern slang statement), but he convinced me 'this was real' and someone had really done this on my behalf. WOW...what a gift from an angel.

I have listened to and loved her music for years so I started rearranging schedules, trying to find a threesome to go with me, and knew whoever could go would have to come up with a song title of one of her favorite songs, since we HAD to have t-shirts made in order for 'our group' to truly show our love for her music.

A while back, my sister Kathi wrote the song "After the Fire" on a large sheet of paper and afterwards she burned holes in it and framed this for me in 2007. We were almost ready to move into our new home on the same property where we lived for 18 years, but had lost our home in September of 2005, and she felt the lyrics to this song would be appropriate to hang in our new home. This work of 'love' has been very special to me and since then when I hear of someone losing all of their belongings in a house fire, I engrave the song lyrics for them as a gift.

I engraved several gifts, After The Fire included to give to Amy Grant and a gift for her Tour Manager Justin Zebell. I carried the gifts to give to Amy and Justin and also took the penned After The Fire, in hopes Amy would sign the glass. Amy was more than willing to sign this and I am forever grateful.

I have to say the concert, a 20 year reunion for Amy's band, which is called the 'Lead Me On' tour was absolutely incredible. Amy herself has the voice of an angel and has the most talented musicians touring with her. She shows respect and love for each individual on stage with her. They are an absolutely incredible 'group'.

My oldest step-daughter, Christy, met me along with a dear friend of hers, Kelly, and another dear friend Stacy made the trip to and from Ft. Worth with me Friday. Yes, it was a very late night for an 'old lady' and a 'young chick', but we made it safely thanks to many answered prayers!

Christy really did her research when she returned home, and explains on her blog the various artists each member of Amy's group sings with now or has sang with in the past. The list in itself is unbelievable. They are 'one VERY talented group' and that in itself is an understatement.

It was such a blessing and a great night of fun, another understatement. We visited with Amy and Kim Keyes after the show and 'finally' met Justin, the tour manager. Kim Keyes is from Mississippi, so 3 of us in our foursome felt a 'common bond' with her. She was so gracious, she diligently memorized our first names in preparation to introduce us to Amy.

If you ever have a chance to see Amy Grant in concert, or any of her band members, please take the opportunity to go. You will not be disappointed, I promise! I wish I had a link to each musician, but these are two I've found and wanted to share. Kim Keyes singing a duo with Peter Cetera, formerly of Chicago, which is absolutely incredible. And, if you've never heard Chris Eaton's music please go here.

Many thanks for a great night. A very special thanks to the 'angel in disguise'. I'm one who likes to 'give' so this was very difficult for me to be on the receiving end of a gift of such magnitude, and especially since I do not know who to personally thank. If anyone out there has any 'clues' as to the 'giver' PLEASE help me! A prize is available for the 'correct clue'!

Amy LOVED our shirts, so I will be contacting her manager for an address, so I can ship her mine which read, "After the Fire", Revelation 21:5.

I took numerous photos so please bear with me since I do want to show 'everything' involved in our wonderful night of fun and enjoyment.

Thanks Christy, Kelly and Stacy for a great 'girls' night!

It was definitely a night to remember and one I don't feel deserving of, even though I am very, very grateful!
