Merry Christmas

We celebrated Jack & Christy's birthdays last week so I decided to take this opportunity to show a photo of Jack's birthday gift he received from his children!

We now have our very first ever 'blow up - Christmas decor - yard art'! So far the wind hasn't taken it in flight. We'll see what the next week or so brings since it has been very cold and windy here and at times the helicopter has looked as though it was literally 'taking off'!

I also wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderfully safe, joyful & blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Blessings always,
Kaye

May all that HE is come alive in your heart...

HIM the name that is above every name."

Happy Birthday Christy!

Please go here to wish Christy the happiest of birthdays!

Here's to you Christy and hoping it has been a wonderfully blessed day! With next year being a BIG one you'll have to keep us posted on your 'new thing every day for a year' plan.

Hopefully next year you'll be finished with your shopping so us girls 'can' start a new tradition of cooking together on your big day and us treating you to a 'birthday lunch'.

Enjoy the 30's while you can....

Sincere best wishes for you, today and every day.

Love,

Finally...A "Professional Photo" Of My Work!

A very sweet customer had this professional photograph taken of her 'family tile' during her child's Christmas card photo shoot. Maybe one day I'll be able to take photos of my work like this!

Thanks so much Laura for sharing this picture. I appreciate you more than you know and I'm also thankful you were pleased with your family tile.

Somehow I knew when I initially spoke to you, you wouldn't be able to 'save' the tile as a surprise for your husband as a Christmas gift! To read the story, click here!

A portion of sales from tiles like Laura's are given to The Hope Clinic to honor the memory of precious Audrey Caroline Smith.

Have a wonderfully blessed week,
Kaye

Trent says NO to sharing his toy gun!

Before Trent would settle down to an after Thanksgiving nap he found his toy gun & pacifier to insure no one else could play with either while he slept the afternoon away!

I am praying for this little one as he will be sedated tomorrow morning to have dental work done.
  • Praying for his Dr. and the nurses.
  • Praying for his parents' peace of mind.
  • Praying for all to go well and for rest & healing after the procedure.

I love you Trent,
KK

One of the Grand's I Miss Seeing Regularly

Jack, IV was showing out with Winter hat and gloves one night and I took the opportunity to photograph him.

Sorry to say I didn't do well over the Thanksgiving Holidays taking pictures of the family. Sure hope I can do a better job of this during December!

We still haven't figured out where Little Jack found the "Happy Easter" sticker he has on his P. J.'s!

The old saying, "everything that goes around, comes around" is true for our 4 "Jack's". Jack, Jr.'s nickname when he was young was "Jackie". Now Ali, Jack, IV's sister calls her little brother "Jackie"!

I can't help but share some of his ways!

This is Zachary's 'big catch' while he and his Uncle David went fishing during the Thanksgiving Holidays. Not sure how Zachary 'really' felt about having his hand in the fish's mouth.

Afterwards they cooked us a great dinner complete with fish, 'real' Mississippi hush puppies, deer steak and all of the trimmings.
Zachary tells me he owns the tile business and I work for him. He is absolutely enthralled with the epoxy glue gun I use to place the zig-zag hangers on the back of the engraved tiles. Each time he is here to tell me what to do (since he is 'the boss'), he plays with my glue guns and is very frustrated that I will not allow him to use these (yet).

A couple of weeks ago, while he had me hard at work, in an effort to sway his attention to something else besides the glue gun, I told him to draw a picture for me, then I'd scan and engrave it just for him.

The above photo shows his drawing engraved for his little brother Trent for Christmas. It is a coaster but of course he wanted a hanger glued to the back so Trent could hang it on his wall. I'm sure their Mom will love this new wall decor in their home!

And, my boss Zachary called me last night on his own. We're still not sure why, since normally he has a specific question to ask, but not last night. When it sounded as though his voice was fading, I asked, "Zachary, are you going to hang up now?" He said, "KK, did you have anything else to say." He is too funny! I wanted to tell him, "you called me", but rather than saying anything more, I told him I loved him and good-night.

Enjoy these grand kids so very much and I am very grateful to have 4 of them close by!

Blessings,
Kaye

Trying to Help Build Isaac's Playground

I emailed Stacy a week ago to express my wishes to help support The Delisles' efforts to fund Isaac's playground.

Starting tomorrow 10% of retail sales on any internet orders, (excluding "The Smith Family" tile since a portion of these sales are donated to The Hope Clinic in Nashville, in memory of Audrey Caroline Smith); any orders via the website during the week of November 22-29 will be donated to Stacy and Spencer's Church for Isaac's Playground.
Here is how it works:

1. Please visit my website at www.engravedeuniques.com
2. Please mention "He Will Carry Me" in the comments section while checking out, along with 'your' personalization information if you are placing an order for a personalized tile.

This is a prayerfully helpful way to help fund Isaac's Playground.

Please visit "He Will Carry Me" and continue praying for healing and peace of mind for Stacy and Spencer. They are such a special couple who can use our continued prayers.

Thanks in advance for helping with a very special project for Baby Isaac's legacy to continue on for years to come.

Amy Grant Tickets Sent By An Angel

Last week I received a call from Amy Grant's Tour Manager. He asked why I had not responded to his numerous emails about her upcoming concert, and I responded, "I thought it was junk mail" therefore I didn't open the correspondence. I explained to him I had not purchased any tickets for her upcoming concert in Ft. Worth. He told me 'someone' had done this for me, giving me 4 tickets, along with back-stage passes before and after the concert. WOW was the only word that came to mind during our conversation. I did tell him a few times, "you're pulling my leg" (an old Southern slang statement), but he convinced me 'this was real' and someone had really done this on my behalf. WOW...what a gift from an angel.

I have listened to and loved her music for years so I started rearranging schedules, trying to find a threesome to go with me, and knew whoever could go would have to come up with a song title of one of her favorite songs, since we HAD to have t-shirts made in order for 'our group' to truly show our love for her music.

A while back, my sister Kathi wrote the song "After the Fire" on a large sheet of paper and afterwards she burned holes in it and framed this for me in 2007. We were almost ready to move into our new home on the same property where we lived for 18 years, but had lost our home in September of 2005, and she felt the lyrics to this song would be appropriate to hang in our new home. This work of 'love' has been very special to me and since then when I hear of someone losing all of their belongings in a house fire, I engrave the song lyrics for them as a gift.

I engraved several gifts, After The Fire included to give to Amy Grant and a gift for her Tour Manager Justin Zebell. I carried the gifts to give to Amy and Justin and also took the penned After The Fire, in hopes Amy would sign the glass. Amy was more than willing to sign this and I am forever grateful.

I have to say the concert, a 20 year reunion for Amy's band, which is called the 'Lead Me On' tour was absolutely incredible. Amy herself has the voice of an angel and has the most talented musicians touring with her. She shows respect and love for each individual on stage with her. They are an absolutely incredible 'group'.

My oldest step-daughter, Christy, met me along with a dear friend of hers, Kelly, and another dear friend Stacy made the trip to and from Ft. Worth with me Friday. Yes, it was a very late night for an 'old lady' and a 'young chick', but we made it safely thanks to many answered prayers!

Christy really did her research when she returned home, and explains on her blog the various artists each member of Amy's group sings with now or has sang with in the past. The list in itself is unbelievable. They are 'one VERY talented group' and that in itself is an understatement.

It was such a blessing and a great night of fun, another understatement. We visited with Amy and Kim Keyes after the show and 'finally' met Justin, the tour manager. Kim Keyes is from Mississippi, so 3 of us in our foursome felt a 'common bond' with her. She was so gracious, she diligently memorized our first names in preparation to introduce us to Amy.

If you ever have a chance to see Amy Grant in concert, or any of her band members, please take the opportunity to go. You will not be disappointed, I promise! I wish I had a link to each musician, but these are two I've found and wanted to share. Kim Keyes singing a duo with Peter Cetera, formerly of Chicago, which is absolutely incredible. And, if you've never heard Chris Eaton's music please go here.

Many thanks for a great night. A very special thanks to the 'angel in disguise'. I'm one who likes to 'give' so this was very difficult for me to be on the receiving end of a gift of such magnitude, and especially since I do not know who to personally thank. If anyone out there has any 'clues' as to the 'giver' PLEASE help me! A prize is available for the 'correct clue'!

Amy LOVED our shirts, so I will be contacting her manager for an address, so I can ship her mine which read, "After the Fire", Revelation 21:5.

I took numerous photos so please bear with me since I do want to show 'everything' involved in our wonderful night of fun and enjoyment.

Thanks Christy, Kelly and Stacy for a great 'girls' night!

It was definitely a night to remember and one I don't feel deserving of, even though I am very, very grateful!

Something New!

A young lady from Lubbock, Texas contacted me last week regarding a gift for her Mom & Dad. She and her brother wanted to create a tile for a Christmas gift for their parents this year.

She requested their last name engraved on a 12 x 12 slate in the center of the engraved square, and wanted the tile to be similar to Kelly's tile, from Kelly's Korner.

She had a saying in mind that she wanted engraved around the square and hopefully they will be pleased with their purchase.

I hope their parents are pleased and surprised when they open this Christmas gift from their children.

Saturday "Day" Date With Trace

Every year our accountants send an invitation to their customers for a free movie, drinks and popcorn. I have not ever taken them up on this offer since it is a 'kids' movie they rent the theater to show their customers, but this year a friend of mine called and asked if I would meet her there with one of our Grandchildren and she was going to take one of hers. I said 'yes' in hopes I could find one of the grand kids with 'no plans' for the day.

Trace was my "date" for the day and we really enjoyed our time together and the movie Madagascar Escape 2 Africa! If you haven't taken your children to see this, please do!

Trace was the ultimate gentleman, taking good care of me and also the other two little ones with us, Zachry Moore and Cross DiMaggio.

This will definitely become a tradition when I can find a little one with a 'free' day to go with me. We had a wonderful time together at the movie, then back here at home 'playing'.
Thanks Trace for being so very kind and considerate and ushering me to the movie!
Sorry we didn't get any pictures of our day together:( Hopefully next year I'll be more prepared.

Thanks Penny for calling to encourage us to go to the 'free day' at the movies and thanks Arnold, Walker & Arnold & Company for a wonderful treat!

Newly Designed Wedding Gift

This is a newly designed wedding gift ordered this week. It was engraved on a 16" x 8" porcelain tile and Harrington font was used for the names and the dates.

This customer requested the Scripture Song of Solomon 3:4 to be engraved at the bottom of the tile.

More gift ideas, some old and some new!

This was a gift a lady ordered for parents after the birth of their first Grandchild. It is a 12" x 6" engraved slate tile.
This has been given for quite some time for wedding and anniversary gifts. Shown here is an 8" x 8" porcelain engraved tile.
These were ordered by a young lady to give to her daughter's teachers for Christmas gifts. Each one is an off-white 6" x 6" tile and is personalized with the child's name and the year.

Since I sometimes post photos of new items on my blog before they are added to the website, you can order by clicking on the size tile preferred. Then please give color choice, personalization, and any other pertinent information in the "comments" section while checking out.

Of course, please feel free to email any questions you may have prior to placing your order.

Many thanks for viewing and have a wonderfully blessed week,
Kaye

Growing up too fast!

Miss Anna, AKA "Minnie Bennie" is growing up too fast! She painted this beautiful drawing for her Dad, AKA Korky, my 'favorite' brother, earlier this week.
Hopefully soon we can talk Anna's Mom into starting a blog so we can better keep up with their daily happenings. Until then, I wanted to share her picture and her painting on my blog since I am one very proud aunt!
Steph, are you listening to our plea across the miles?

3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.

Great Teacher Gift Idea

For the teachers on your list, this shows a poem written by a Mom of one of the students of this kindergarten class in 2004-2005.
Each individual student wrote their name on a plain white index card using a Sharpie, they were scanned, then engraved to make this cherished gift for Ms. Bluml.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go."

Patriotism Abounds-Please Vote!

I remember long ago before being a registered voter in TX and because of the wonderful 'right to vote' we have in this great Country, I would drive back home to MS to vote.
This right was instilled in us all our young lives by our Dad.

While building our home I found a talented local lady to make this mosaic American Flag for me to hang above the stove top.

And for those who know me well, our home has always been filled with Patriotism year round.
When celebrating any occasion, I always seem to lean towards doing so using the
great red-white & blue!
The cake and cookies were made to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday earlier this year.
I'll never live down the fact I had 'sparklers' put on her cake, a move that
was not appreciated 'at all' by my baby brother. He STILL reminds me of the jealousy involved in this 'bad' decision I made.
(Please, someone help me remember to have 'sparklers' put on his next birthday cake,
or else, I'm toast!)
The T-Shirt was bought as a gift for me by MK that she 'had to wear' today!
And being the kind step-mom that I am, of course I let her borrow it!

"Dad's Little Firecracker"

Miss Ali Grace in her 4th of July outfit!

Please vote! It is our right as Americans!

...but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
