Pecan Trees Smarter Than Pear Trees?

From the looks of the pear trees in full bloom
and the pecan trees patiently
holding back until it is 'time to bud', I think possibly
pecan trees are actually smarter than Bradford Pear Trees.

The tiny white blooms are absolutely beautiful,
but considering the hard freeze we are
expecting tonight I wonder how long everyone will
be able to enjoy the blooms this year.

Newly Designed Wedding Gift

A friend emailed me a few weeks ago and asked for a 'newly designed'
wedding gift to be shipped to her friend in California.
She asked that their first names, last name and the wedding date
be engraved on their gift.
She also requested the Scripture
Joshua 24:15 be engraved on her friends' wedding gift.

Congratulations to The Martinez's!

Valentine's Day falling on Saturday

T Is For Thankful & Textures

"T"hankful for home:
While rebuilding our home (2005-2007) we wanted to give the individual contractors something personalized to show our appreciation for their work. We decided on 'personalized wood pen sets' since we thought this would be something they would keep in their 'work' trucks and they'd use them and hopefully remember how much we appreciated them and their hard work.

"T"hankful for teachers:
The personalized wood picture frames have become very popular for teachers so each year they can remember the students from their former classes.

This sample was of Trace's 2nd Grade Class.
"T"hankful for friends and healthy family:
Last year my sister came to stay with us while she underwent surgery in hopes I could help 'nurse her back to health'.

We did try to do something special for everyone at the Dr.'s office after they took such good care of her. Later we decided we HAD TO do something even more special for their office manager Amanda. We didn't realize at the time Kathi decided to come here for surgery that her insurance carrier would make things very interesting when she crossed state-lines for medical attention:(!

Live & learn we did, but Amanda was so very helpful and we can never thank her enough for her diligence and hard work! We felt Philippians 1:3-6 would be very appropriate under the circumstances. We'll always appreciate you Amanda!

written by John Ortberg.
I look forward to reading this book comparing

After Baby Harper was born,

as we all prayed for Baby Harper to be healed.

Remember when...

Seems like long ago, but in reality it was only a couple of months ago Boomama hosted her Annual Christmas Tour of Homes and by leaving a comment her readers were entered to win an engraved tile!

Proud of Cancer Crusade Ladies

The 1st Annual Cancer Crusade in Mt. Pleasant held in 2008 raised over $14,000.00, half of which was donated to the Titus Regional Medical Foundation and the remaining half was donated to St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital. The Mt. Pleasant Daily Tribune printed the above photo and article earlier this week.

Mary Katherine along with friends Nancy Johnson and Amanda Johnson organized this great event for adults and children. The community rallied around them and they are very grateful for the support of businesses and individuals.

Please give HIM praise for those who have been healed of this terrible disease. Please pray for those who are fighting this disease and also for those who have lost loved ones to Cancer. We also need to continue praying for a cure.

Nascar is still alive?

After hearing so much negative news about the economy I made a terrible assumption.

I thought SURELY I wouldn't have to feel the walls in the house move this Spring while Jack watched Nascar Races on TV.

Earlier today I realized after 'feeling' it, Nascar is alive and well.

All of which reminded me that a good friend recently emailed this picture to us and I wondered if anybody recognizes anyone in this 'very' dated picture!
